Have you heard that Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., the oldest member of the Senate and one time member of the KKK, needed medical attention at the inaugural luncheon on Tuesday?
Apparently he did not know that Barack Obama was black. And when he asked his aide: "Who's the colored fellow behind the presidential podium?"
His aide replied in his West Virginian accent, "Why, Senataa, that is the new president of these United States!"
That's when Byrd collapsed, holding his heart, trying to speak as spittle dripped from the corners of his aged and wrinkled mouth, "I...I...I thought he was polishing the brass on the stage..."
